Dad's Hot Chili

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Ground Beef
  • 1 Onion 1/2 for ground beef / 1/2 for toppings
  • 2 1/2 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp Cumin
  • 1 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tbsp Onion Powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp Oregano
  • 2 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Red Pepper Your favorite hot sauce can be substituted
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 16 oz Jar of Salsa Mild or hot depending upon your preference
  • 1 14.5 oz Can of Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 Can of Tomatoes with Green Chilies Mild or hot depending upon your preference
  • 2 Cans of Chili Beans

Instructions

  • Mix all your dry ingredients together in a separate bowl and set aside
  • Brown the ground beef with 1/2 the onion. -Drain
  • Add salsa, canned tomatoes, Rotel, and beans to the ground beef mixture
  • Continue heating to a boil. Let it rest for five to ten minutes. Serve with your favorite toppings!
  • NOTE: If you desire to increase the heat of the chili, use hot Rotel, hot salsa, and two cans of Bushes hot chili beans. The longer the chili sits, the hotter it will become.
